One Dies in Car Accident on Olde Highway 80 [El Cajon, CA]
Single Vehicle Involved in Fatal Crash on Olde Highway 80 near Flinn Springs County Park in El Cajon
EL CAJON, CA (December 12, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a car accident in the 14787 block of Olde Highway 80 on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Flinn Springs County Park at approximately 07:47 PM.
Based on a report, a Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling on the freeway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it went off the road and rolled down a steep embankment into Flinn Springs County Park.
As a result, one person died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
At that time, the park was closed and someone had to open the gates so that emergency responders could get inside.
The CHP is still investigating the case.
