Young Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Chase Avenue [El Cajon, CA]

EL CAJON, CA (November 25, 2020) – A young man died in a pedestrian crash on Chase Avenue on Wednesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Estes Street around 8:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim, a man in his 20s, was at the intersection at the time of the crash. However, it was not yet known if he was in a designated crosswalk. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Chase struck him.
 
As a result, the man sustained significant injuries to the head. An attending coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The El Cajon Police Department does not consider alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. However, officers continue to investigate the case.
