Ian Mitchell Dies in Motorcycle Crash on El Camino Real [San Mateo, CA]

Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Accident on El Camino Real and 12th Avenue in San Mateo

 
SAN MATEO, CA (August 7, 2020) – Police identified Ian Mitchell as the victim who died in a motorcycle crash on El Camino Real on Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 12th Avenue at approximately 6:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, Mitchell was traveling south on El Camino when he crossed over the center median. Consequently, he drove head-on into a sport utility vehicle that was traveling north.
 
The San Mateo police responded to the scene and found the victim with no pulse. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials later identified him as Ian Anthony Mitchell, 29, of Redwood City.
 
At this time, officers are still trying to figure out the factor in the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
