Bicyclist Struck and Injured by Vehicle on Vassar Street and Terminal Way in Reno
RENO, NV (August 6, 2020) – Police reported injuries in a bicycle crash on Vassar Street on Thursday morning.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Terminal Way around 6:30 AM.
Based on a report, the bicyclist was in the crosswalk going westbound on Vassar when the incident happened. Due to an unknown reason, a car that was going eastbound on Vassar struck the victim.
Reno Police responded to the scene. Officers said the cyclist suffered minor injuries.
Due to the crash, officials closed the northbound lanes of Terminal Way to give way to rescue and clearing operations.
Based on an assessment, police said the driver of the car claimed the sun was in his eyes when the collision occurred. Finally, an investigation is ongoing.
