Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes, Kills Man in Long Beach Accident on Pacific Coast Highway
LONG BEACH, CA (October 20, 2020) — A man died Sunday evening following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Lewis Avenue.
According to police, officers arrived at the scene around 7:20 p.m. after responding to a call about a hit-and-run accident.
There, police determined through examinations that a man walking eastbound on the south sidewalk of Pacific Coast Highway tried to cross outside of a marked crosswalk. However, in an attempt to get across, a westbound dark-colored sedan struck the pedestrian in the No. 3 westbound lane.
At this time, detectives have yet to determine the factors that played a role in the acident on Pacific Coast Highway, which they believe involved a Dodge Challenger.
