20-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck by 71-Year-Old Drunk Driver on Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 14, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 20-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a bicycle accident on Sahara Avenue on Monday morning.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Durango Drive around 6:47 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding eastbound in the roadway on Sahara when she turned left to northbound Durango. At that time, a 71-year-old woman in a westbound Nissan pickup truck struck the victim.
Medics transported the cyclist to UMC with life-threatening injuries.
The elderly remained at the scene after the crash. However, she failed the sobriety tests, prompting police to transport her to the Clark County Detention Center. However, an investigation is ongoing.
