Richard Rodriguez, Zaira Lamas, 10-Year-Old Armando Hernandez Dead in Head-On Crash on Maple Avenue [Fresno, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Head-On Crash on Maple Avenue at Kings Canyon Road in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (September 10, 2020) – Police identified Richard Rodriguez, Zaira Lamas, and 10-year-old Armando Hernandez as the victims who died in a head-on crash on Maple Avenue on Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Kings Canyon Road around 8:15 PM.
Based on a report, Rodriguez, 32, of Fresno drove his silver BMW from the northbound lane to the southbound lane on Maple. Subsequently, it slammed head-on into a Hyundai driven by Lamas, 26, of Fresno.
As a result, Rodriguez and Lamas died at the scene. Medics said Hernandez, a boy, inside the Hyundai also died in the incident. In addition, a female passenger in the Hyundai, identified as Lamas’ partner, suffered critical injuries. Crews took her to the University of California, Davis Medical Center.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office don’t have additional details. At this point, an investigation is still ongoing.
