Truck Takes Off from Roosevelt to U District in an Accident in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (August 25, 2020) – At least four workers suffered injuries in an accident involving a runaway work truck near Roosevelt High School on Tuesday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened while the victims were working on the new light rail station around 9:00 AM.
Based on a report, the workers were on top of the truck when it took off on its own. A worker was thrown and the other three were able to jump off when it slowed down. Finally, it stopped on its own north of the University District Station.
Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office said medics took two of the workers to area hospitals. Two other workers were treated at the scene and declined to be taken to a hospital.
Always ensure safety in the workplace. Be cautious around big vehicles like trucks to avoid getting into an accident. However, manage your speed and always follow road regulations. Above all, avoid all distractions while driving on the road.
