Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Car in Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (August 21, 2020) — A woman died in Thursday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 23 near East Janss Road.
The incident happened around 5:10 a.m. when California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of an accident on the northbound highway.
Upon arriving, CHP found a woman, believed to be around 50 years old, deceased at the scene.
Her identity, as well as the circumstances that unfolded prior to the crash, requires further investigation by detectives. Thus far, investigators do not believe she was a stranded motorist since they found no vehicles nearby.
Due to investigations, crews closed the northbound side of the highway between Highway 101 and Avenida de Los Arboles until about 11:15 a.m.
