Sidney Garcia Killed in Pedestrian Accident on West Valencia Road [Tucson, AZ]
Drunk Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (August 11, 2020) – Police identified Sidney Garcia as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on West Valencia Road on early Tuesday morning.
According to Tucson Police, the collision happened near South 12th Avenue approximately 3:46 AM.
Based on a report, Garcia was acting erratically and appeared to be under the influence prior to the incident. Consequently, witnesses saw him walk out into the roadway. Subsequently, he stood there while waving his arms when a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 struck him.
Asa a result, Tucson Fire personnel rendered aid before they pronounced the 33-year-old victim deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. Finally, an officer from the DUI Unit determined that the driver was not impaired by alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the collision. However, the investigation into the case is on-going.
