3-Car Accident in Hesperia Turns Fatal
HESPERIA, CA (August 17, 2020) — Tragedy struck as two people were killed during Friday’s multi-car accident on Escondido Avenue and Sultana Street.
According to reports, the 8:41 p.m. accident drew San Bernardino County firefighters and Hesperia Police Department deputies to the scene.
The incident that occurred half-a-mile south of Walmart left a Honda CRV and a dark-colored GMC Yukon with major damage. Additionally, a white Acura was found near the center divider.
According to investigators, the force of the accident caused the Acura vehicle to split into two, killing the driver instantly.
Investigators also found a person in the Yukon deceased at the scene. A male and a teenage female had to be airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of unknown injuries.
As for the male driver of the Honda, First Responders evaluated him at the scene as he did not require any further medical treatment.
At some point during the accident, the GMC Yukon caught on fire but Good Samaritans became successful in extinguishing the flames.
At this time, authorities have not yet determined what had led to the accident but hope for witnesses’ assistance in identifying the cause. Anyone with information should call detectives.
