Pedestrian Dies in DUI Accident on Springdale Street [Huntington Beach, CA]
DUI Driver Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Springdale Street and Croupier Drive in Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 12, 2020) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian died in a DUI accident on Springdale Street on early Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Croupier Drive at approximately 12:20 AM.
Based on a report, a 22-year-old woman was driving her vehicle when she struck the 26-year-old man. However, officials did not state if the accident occurred in a designated crosswalk. Consequently, the woman fled the scene.
Emergency crews said the victim died at the scene. Huntington Beach police did not yet release his identity pending kin notification.
Police later located the suspect nearby with her vehicle. Finally, police arrested her for DUI. However, they are still asking anyone with information on the case to call Huntington Beach Police Traffic Investigator D. Demetre at 714-536-5670.
