Courtney Pandolfi Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on Katella Avenue [Anaheim, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Katella Avenue at Bayless Street in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (August 11, 2020) – Police arrested Courtney Pandolfi after a fatal DUI crash on Katella Avenue on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Bayless Street around 07:30 PM.
Based on a report, Pandolfi lost control of a white Jeep prior to the incident. Consequently, the vehicle jumped the curb and hit a pregnant woman. The victim was 35 weeks pregnant at the time of the accident and was standing with her husband on the sidewalk at the time of the crash.
Paramedics rushed the victim to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died. Officials only identified her as a 23-year-old resident of Anaheim. In addition, doctors raced to save the baby, who is in now critical condition at UCI’s neonatal intensive care unit. Her husband was not hurt in the incident.
Crews transported 40-year-old Courtney Pandolfi of Garden Grove to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Police later arrested her on suspicion of felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter and driving on a suspended license.
