PHOENIX, AZ (July 30, 2020) – A man lost his life Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a pedestrian crash at 19th Avenue and Glendale Avenue.
According to an investigation, detectives determined that the driver drove northbound on North 19th Avenue when the pedestrian stepped onto the roadway for unknown reasons.
The deadly pedestrian incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. According to police, officers found a man with serious injuries. As a result, paramedics transported him to a local hospital.
However, despite life-saving attempts, the unidentified victim died shortly after.
Police have ruled out speed and impairment as possible factors in the accident. Although, an investigation remains as detectives try and uncover other outstanding factors that could have driven the accident.
