Teen Dies in DUI Solo-Car Crash in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (July 30, 2020) — A teen died after a single-vehicle DUI crash on 5 Freeway near Euclid Street Tuesday night.
According to news reports, multiple firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate a victim trapped inside a black Chevrolet sedan that had crashed into a metal pole on the side of the 5 Freeway.
The driver of the vehicle, who remains unidentified, sustained unknown injuries and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Unfortunately, after freeing the sole passenger of the Chevrolet, firefighters determined that the victim had died. Soon after, around 8 p.m., officials contacted a coroner to the scene.
Authorities have not identified the 14-year-old who perished in the 7:40 p.m. accident.
According to investigations, the vehicle was headed southbound before it traveled to the right shoulder and struck a guardrail and the pole.
