Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted After Fatal Pedestrian Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 19, 2020) – Police identified Goma Pokharel, 67, as the victim who got struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the 4100 block of Ashford Street on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Marlesta Drive shortly after 8:00 PM.
Based on a report, Pokharel was out for her nightly walk near Lindbergh Neighborhood Park when a vehicle came and struck her.
The elderly woman died due to severe injuries.
The San Diego police described the involved vehicle as a large dark-colored Dodge Ram that was recorded by a Ring home-security camera. The driver and a male passenger drove away before emergency responders arrived.
The police are still confirming the identity of the hit-and-run driver. At this time, officials are still gathering data related to the case.
