Bicyclist Critical After DUI Accident on Blackstone Avenue [Fresno, CA]

DUI Driver Involved in Bicycle Crash on Blackstone Avenue near Shields Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (July 17, 2020) – Police confirmed that a bicyclist suffered critical injuries after a DUI accident on Blackstone Avenue on early Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Shields Avenue around 5:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a vehicle swerved in the lanes and clipped the bicyclist. Consequently, the cyclist lost control of the bike and hit the car’s windshield, breaking it. The suspect kept driving and when the vehicle stopped, the victim fell and hit his head.
 
Emergency crews rushed the victim to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.
 
Fresno police say they found drugs in the suspect’s car. At this time, they don’t have additional information related to the case.
