RIVERSIDE, CA (June 28, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a train and pedestrian accident near Columbia Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 4:00 PM.
A report from the Riverside Fire Department showed that a train hit the victim. However, it was not clear why the woman was in the tracks at that time.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities did not release her identity pending notification of next of kin. Reports said the woman appeared to be between 25 and 35 years old.
