Mark Seeger Killed, Hector Heredia Arrested Following Bicycle-Vehicle Crash in Nogales
NOGALES, AZ (June 2, 2020) — A hit-and-run driver fatally struck and killed a bicyclist Sunday morning on North Grand Avenue near North Congress Drive.
According to reports, 66-year-old Mark Ryan Seeger was riding southbound around 7 a.m. when a Ford pickup struck his bicycle.
The Nogales Police Department said in a news release that the crash befell between Congress Drive and Frank Reed Road. At the scene, paramedics transported Seeger to Holy Cross Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
As for the Ford driver—whom authorities identified as 41-year-old Hector Francisco Heredia—he had left the scene prior to the police’s arrival.
However, officers became successful in locating Heredia in a Monte Carlo neighborhood. There, officers arrested and booked him into County Jail on one count of manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.
We would like to express our thoughts of support, strength and hope to the family and friends of Mark Ryan Seeger.
