Amanda Colvin Among Killed in Two-Car Accident on Highway 169 Near Highway 69
DEWEY, AZ (June 2, 2020) — A two-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Highway 169 near Highway 69 claimed four lives.
This heartbreaking incident happened at approximately 8:19 a.m. Reports say four people inside an Acura sedan, heading southbound on Highway 169, veered over the center-line for unknown reasons. As it traveled into oncoming traffic, it collided with a 1-ton Ford pickup on the two-lane highway.
As a result, all four people inside the Acura died at the scene. Authorities described the victims as a 16-year-old boy driving the car, 35-year-old Amanda Colvin of Prescott Valley as the front seat passenger, and a five and a 7-year-old boy in the rear seat. The identities of the remaining victims will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
The Ford driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash; however, his three passengers face more severe injuries. Paramedics ushered them to a Phoenix-area hospital.
Detectives have yet to determine what drove the accident and whether speed or impairment played a role.
To the families and friends of Amanda Colvin and the other three victims, we’d like to send our sympathies and thoughts of hope and courage to you.
