Train Hits Car in Fatal Lancaster Accident
LANCASTER, CA (May 29, 2020) – Police confirmed that at least two people died when a train and a car got involved in a crash on Avenue I on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Sierra Highway at about 5:15 AM.
A report from the Los Angeles County Fire Department showed that the two men were inside a vehicle when a freight train struck them.
Paramedics pronounced the men dead at the scene. They did not release the victims’ identities pending kin notification.
It was unclear if the vehicle was parked on the tracks or attempting to cross when the accident happened. However, police continue to investigate the incident.
