Wrong-Way Driver Causes Two-Car Accident in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (May 29, 2020) — A wrong-way collision on 17 Freeway southbound near Thomas Road resulted in injuries.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a Suzuki hatchback driver collided with a Ford pickup truck carrying two people on the 17 South Freeway.
Authorities learned that the 45-year-old man driving the Suzuki had been traveling north on the southbound side before the impact. He suffered serious injuries, urging paramedics to transport him to a nearby hospital.
The two people in the pickup truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to a hospital for treatment.
