Lawrence Lee Killed in Accident on D Street [South Lake Tahoe, CA]
Reckless Driving Leads to Fatal Crash in South Lake Tahoe
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (May 21, 2020) – Police identified Lawrence Lee as the reckless driver who died in an accident in the 1900 block of D Street on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Emerald Bay Road at approximately 3:30 PM.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department said Lee was reckless driving when he struck a fence and a parked car. Within a few minutes, he struck two more cars at the intersection near Emerald Bay Road. Citizens detained him and described him as combative.
Police officers arrived and placed Lee into handcuffs. However, upon checking, they did not find Lee’s pulse. South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue and Cal Tahoe Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and later pronounced Lee deceased at the scene.
Investigators from the El Dorado County District Attorney’s office, The El Dorado County Sheriff’s office, California Highway Patrol, Placerville PD, and SLTPD are conducting the investigation. However, they did not release further information regarding the case.
