2 Killed in DUI Car Accident on La Palma Avenue Near Olive Street [Anaheim, CA]
Deadly DUI Accident Reported in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (May 26, 2020) — Two people died in a DUI car accident on La Palma Avenue near North Olive Street on Saturday night.
According to police, the victims have been described as two men. However, their identities have yet to be confirmed.
Reports say that a silver Mazda CX-9 SUV traveling east on La Palma Avenue struck a vehicle around 8:20 p.m. A man in the second vehicle was ejected from the impact and died shortly after. Another victim, believed to be an occupant of the same vehicle, died moments later.
Sgt. Shane Carringer added that a third occupant of the same car sustained critical injuries, while the driver of the Mazda CX-9, as well as a passenger, sustained injuries in the accident. Paramedics brought those two men to UC Irvine Medical Center.
During the investigation, police learned that DUI and drugs played a factor in the accident and that the Mazda CX-9 might have been involved in a separate collision at Harbor Boulevard and La Palma Avenue.
Anyone who would like to assist officers in their investigation, please call the department.
Our hearts break for the friends and families of the two victims; our law group sends its condolences and thoughts.
