WSDOT Worker Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway [Seattle, WA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Pedestrian Crash near the West Seattle Bridge
SEATTLE, WA (May 5, 2020) – A WSDOT worker suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on 5 Freeway on Tuesday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near the West Seattle Bridge.
Based on a report from the Washington State Department of Transportation, an incident response team arrived to the scene for a multi-car minor injury crash. While cleaning up the area and preparing to open the roadway, a truck towing a trailer hit a WSDOT crew member. However, the driver did not stop at the scene.
The worker suffered a broken leg in the crash.
Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call 911.
