Branden Finley Fatally Struck by Car on Olive Street [Los Angeles, CA]
46-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident near Hill Street in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 16, 2021) – Saturday morning, Branden Finley was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident on Olive Street around 8am.
A delivery driver was standing outside his Toyota Tacoma in the 900 block of Wilshire Boulevard when a man asked him for a ride. The suspect jumped inside and locked the doors.
Surveillance footage shows the owner climbing into the bed of the truck while attempting to get the suspect out of the driver seat. However, the suspect kept driving which led the owner of the vehicle to jump out.
The pickup started weaving in and out traffic as it approached Olive Street. There, 46-year-old Finley was struck while riding his bicycle along the road.
Finley landed on the pickup’s hood before falling off near Hill Street. The driver then crashed into two cars before fleeing the scene without rendering aid to the bicyclist.
Medics arrived shortly after, and pronounced Finley dead on scene.
Video surveillance shows the male suspect who was estimated to be 5 foot, 7 inches tall. He should weigh between 150-160 pounds and was last seen wearing black pants and a blue hoodie.
