Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck at South Oxnard Boulevard [Oxnard, CA]
Deadly Bicycle Accident in Oxnard
OXNARD, CA (January 11, 2021) – A 75-year-old bicyclist from Oxnard was fatally struck at South Oxnard Boulevard and Wooley Road on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the fatal incident occurred around 3:43 p.m.
Officers arrived at what is known as the Five Points intersection. According to reports, a 2019 Peterbilt semi-truck hauling a 53-foot trailer turned onto Wooley Road from North Oxnard Boulevard.
Under unclear conditions, the 21-year-old Fresno man operating the tractor-trailer struck the 75-year-old bicyclist. Shortly after, officers found the bicyclist with fatal injuries.
Investigators do not believe that alcohol or speed were factors in the accident. Witnesses are also encouraged to contact the Oxnard police.
