Woman Killed in Rollover Accident on Highway 198 [Hanford, CA]
Passenger Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Rollover Crash in Hanford
HANFORD, CA (January 7, 2021) – A 56-year-old woman died Tuesday in a two-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 6 a.m. crash happened between Hanford and Visalia.
For unknown reasons, a 2017 Hyundai driver speeding westbound on Highway 198 struck the rear of a 1998 Toyota traveling in the same direction.
As a result, the impact sent both vehicles overturning off the highway, killing a 56-year-old female passenger in the Toyota.
Per reports, the 51-year-old man driving the Toyota sustained major injuries and later received care at Kaweah Delta Medical Center while the 27-year-old driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries.
At this time, drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as possible factors in the incident, but an investigation continues.
