Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 51st Avenue [Glendale, AZ]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 51st Avenue near Maryland Avenue in Glendale
GLENDALE, AZ (January 2, 2021) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian crash on 51st Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Maryland Avenue around 12:50 PM.
Based on a report, the woman was crossing the street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, an unidentified vehicle struck her.
As a result, the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release her identity pending kin notification.
Authorities closed 51st Avenue between Montebello and Maryland Avenue while police operations took place in the area.
Glendale police said the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
