Bicyclist Killed in Crash on West Cheyenne Avenue and North Decatur Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
Unidentified Man Fatally Struck by Car in Las Vegas Collision
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 5, 2021) – Sunday morning, a 49-year-old male bicyclist was killed in a crash on West Cheyenne Avenue.
According to reports, a Kia Rio heading west on West Cheyenne Avenue struck a bicyclist. Officers say the bicyclist was riding on the street near North Decatur Boulevard at the time of the collision.
The Kia eventually trapped the man underneath the vehicle, goading nearby Good Samaritans to lift the vehicle onto its side to save the victim.
Paramedics shuttled the 49-year-old man to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the 58-year-old female driver of a Kia requested hospital care. However, there has been no update on her current condition.
At this time, police do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the Las Vegas Police Department.
We would like to take this moment to send our sincere sympathies to the friends and family of the victim.
