CASTAIC, CA (January 7, 2021)—A 58-year-old man died Monday afternoon in a big rig accident on the 5 Freeway near Templin Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal event took place around 12:40 p.m., just north of Templin Highway.
Under tragic circumstances, Richard Peter Heeschen perished at the scene after his big rig left the road and plummeted nearly 50 feet down an embankment.
