One Killed, Two Injured in Car Accident on Southeast Camino Drive [Camano, WA]
Single Vehicle Involved in Fatal Accident on Southeast Camino Drive in Camano
CAMANO, WA (January 2, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a car accident in the 1700 block of Southeast Camino Drive on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 1:30 PM.
Based on a report, a vehicle was traveling on the road at a high rate of speed prior to the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it struck a power pole, snapped it in half, and uprooted the base.
As a result, the driver of the vehicle died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification. One of the passengers suffered life-threatening injuries and another had serious injuries as well.
Upon assessment, troopers believed that the driver was unable to negotiate a curve in the road. However, the collision remains under investigation.
