One Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 17 [Phoenix, AZ]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle After Running onto Highway 17 in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (January 1, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 17 on early Friday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Highway 303 around 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian running onto the freeway. Subsequently, the person was hit by a passing vehicle.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities did not identify the victim pending kin notification.
There was no other information available. At this time, the DPS is still investigating the case.
