One Dies in Motorcycle Accident on 60 Freeway [Diamond Bar, CA]
Motorcycle Involved in Fatal Accident with Two Vehicles on 60 Freeway at Grand Avenue in Diamond Bar
DIAMOND BAR, CA (January 1, 2021) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a motorcycle accident on eastbound 60 Freeway on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Grand Avenue around 9:30 PM.
Based on a report, a Dodge sedan blocked the HOV lane, then the No. 1 lane, and that a black sedan was blocking the No. lane 2 for unknown reasons. Subsequently, a witness said a motorcycle rider crashed into the back of one of the vehicles. As a result, the rider was thrown about 20 feet from the scene.
Consequently, one person died in the incident. It was not confirmed if the victim was the motorcycle rider.
The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down all lanes of the freeway while rescue and clearing operations took place in the area. There was no other information available. At this time, the CHP is still investigating the case.
