62-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Oceanside Boulevard [Oceanside, CA]

Man Lying on the Road Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Oceanside Boulevard near Hoover Street in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (January 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that a 62-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Oceanside Boulevard on Sunday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just west of Hoover Street around 6:35 PM.
 
Based on a report, the man had been lying in the westbound lane for unknown reasons prior to the time of the crash. Subsequently, Oceanside Police said at least one vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending family notification.
 
After the crash, several vehicles stopped at the scene. Officers worked to determine which vehicle struck the pedestrian. It was not clear whether the victim was intoxicated. However, officials continued their investigation.
