TEMPE, AZ (January 5, 2021)—A man died Sunday morning following a collision with a light-rail train near North Center Parkway and West Washington Street.
According to police, the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department responded to reports of a crash near the intersection sometime Sunday morning.
An initial investigation revealed that the eastbound vehicle collided with the westbound light-rail train under unclear circumstances.
Upon arriving, officials found the driver of the vehicle with life-threatening injuries, and who would later succumb to his wounds at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the train sustained minor injuries, and fortunately, officers found no passengers riding on the train at the time.
