At Least 3 Injured in Wrong-Way Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 125 Near Grossmont Boulevard [La Mesa, CA]
Several Hospitalized Following Hit-and-Run Wrong-Way Accident in La Mesa
LA MESA, CA (December 10, 2020)—At least three people were injured following Wednesday’s multi-vehicle wrong-way accident on Highway 125 near Grossmont Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the devastating accident happened around 4:30 a.m.
Witnesses informed the CHP that a Honda driver traveling in the wrong way on the northbound highway crashed into a Toyota SUV, disabling both cars.
Shortly thereafter, the wrong-way driver abandoned the Honda and fled on foot. Moments later, several other vehicles slammed into the Honda and Toyota, leaving at least three people injured.
At this time, detectives need witnesses’ help in confirming the whereabouts and identity of the hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information should contact the CHP.
