Ismael Lopez, Jr. Arrested in Deadly DUI Car Crash Near Myrtle Avenue and Russell Lane
MYRTLETOWN, CA (December 18, 2020)—An 18-year-old woman died Thursday morning in a DUI car accident near Myrtle Avenue and Russell Lane.
According to a collision report, a 2008 Nissan Altima driver collided with two parked vehicles for DUI-related reasons.
The driver, Ismael Lopez, Jr., was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and other charges.
Unfortunately, his passenger succumbed to her injuries at St. Joseph Hospital. Authorities will release her identity once the next of kin has been notified.
Although the cause has been established, the CHP will continue the investigation into this crash and asks anyone with information to call the Humboldt Area CHP office at (707) 822-5981.
