One Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 20th Street East [Lancaster, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Crash on 20th Street East near East Avenue J-8 in Lancaster
LANCASTER, CA (November 26, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a hit-and-run crash on 20th Street East on Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near East Avenue J-8 at approximately 7:25 PM.
Based on a report, two vehicles crashed in the lanes. Subsequently, one of the drivers left the scene after the incident. While fleeing the scene, the hit-and-run vehicle then ran a red light and broadsided a third vehicle.
As a result, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said the driver of the third vehicle suffered fatal injuries. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin. In addition, four others in the vehicle suffered critical injuries.
The hit-and-run driver suffered minor injuries. Police later arrested her on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. At this time, officials don’t have additional information.
