Jackson Allender Injured, Joshua Lemusu Arrested in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Coast Highway [Long Beach, CA]
Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Coast Highway at Lewis Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (December 3, 2020) – Police identified Jackson Allender as the victim who suffered injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Pacific Coast Highway on Wednesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Lewis Avenue around 7:15 PM.
Based on a report, Joshua Lemusu was traveling eastbound Pacific Coast in a 2003 Mercury sedan prior to the accident. Due to unknown reasons, it struck a parked vehicle before striking Allender who was attempting to cross the street outside of a crosswalk. Subsequently, the vehicle fled the scene.
Officers confirmed that Allender succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities identified him as a 32-year-old resident of Long Beach.
Later on, police arrested Lemusu, a 30-year-old resident of Long Beach for driving under the influence, gross vehicular manslaughter, and failure to stop at a scene of a traffic accident. At this point, the investigation is ongoing.
