Genesis Atkins Dies After Colliding With DUI Driver on Highway 95 Near 15 Freeway
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 8, 2020) — A 27-year-old man died in a DUI motorcycle accident on Highway 95 near the 15 Freeway off-ramp.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, an impaired driver in a gray Toyota Camry was speeding down Highway 95 toward the 15 Freeway off-ramp.
Subsequently, the Toyota veered into a restricted painted gore and struck an impact attenuator. From there, the Toyota traveled back onto Highway 95 where it collided with a southbound Suzuki sportbike.
Due to the impact, Genesis Atkins flew off his bike and sustained grave injuries. Per reports, he died at the scene shortly thereafter.
Following the collision, police arrested the Toyota driver on DUI charges at University Medical Center, where he received treatment for his unknown injuries.
