Hit-and-Run Driver Sought after Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (December 8, 2020) – Police identified Erica Cardenas as the victim who died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in the 1900 block of Pacific Avenue on Friday evening, November 27.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 9:29 PM.
Based on a report, Cardenas was in an unmarked crosswalk at the time of the crash. A witness reported that a speeding dark-colored sedan running southbound on the road struck the victim. Subsequently, the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the woman.
As a result, the Long Beach Police Department said the victim suffered fatal injuries. An attending coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.
