Randy Pence Dies in Motorcycle Crash on South Wilmot Road [Tucson, AZ]
Tucson Fatal Crash on South Wilmot Road near East Eli Drive
TUCSON, AZ (November 3, 2020) – Police identified Randy Pence as the rider who died in a motorcycle crash on South Wilmot Road on Wednesday evening.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near East Eli Drive at approximately 10:00 PM.
Based on a report, Pence was riding his 2007 Triumph motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on Wilmot at the time of the crash. At the same tie, a gray 2007 BMW 550 passenger vehicle was turning left from southbound Wilmot onto Eli. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicles collided in the roadway.
Upon arrival, Tucson Fire rendered aid to the Pence. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Interviews and roadway evidence determined that speed does appear to be a factor in the collision. However, the investigation into the case is ongoing.
