Joseph Robles-Romero Dies in Two-Car Accident on North 17th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
Joseph Robles-Romero Killed in Two-Car Crash at North 17th and West Northern Avenues
PHOENIX, AZ (November 3, 2020) — A 19-year-old driver died following Saturday’s two-vehicle crash at North 17th and West Northern avenues.
According to authorities, the 4:03 p.m. accident involved a 2016 Honda minivan and a 1995 Lexus LS400 driven by Joseph Robles-Romero.
During their investigation, authorities learned that Robles-Romero crashed his vehicle into the Honda, whose 30-year-old female driver tried making a left turn onto Northern Avenue at the time.
Due to his excessive speed prior to the crash, Robles-Romero’s Lexus LS400 continued and struck a palm tree and a brick wall.
As a result of the incident, Robles-Romero died at the scene.
The minivan driver and her four passengers, three of whom were children, evaded injury.
According to an investigation, police have ruled out impairment on the minivan driver’s part, but an ongoing investigation continues as they determine the ultimate cause and liabilities.
