Cahleigh Martin, Louie Bellen and Ralph Buckner Involved in Deadly Multi-Car Accident on Highway 101 [Paso Robles, CA]
Cahleigh Martin, Louie Bellen and Ralph Buckner Survives Fatal Chain-Reaction Accident on Highway 101 at Highway 46
PASO ROBLES, CA (October 29, 2020)—A driver died following Monday’s chain-reaction crash on Highway 101 at Highway 46.
Around 6:52 p.m., crews closed a southbound lane at the Highway 46 off-ramp in Paso Robles.
According to reports, California Highway Patrol units arrived at the scene to investigate a multi-vehicle accident.
They determined that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 22-year-old Cahleigh Martin of Templeton, had reportedly made a lane change, and failed to stop behind a line of vehicles ahead. Subsequently, Martin’s Silverado, traveling at speeds of 60 to 65 mph, rear-ended a 2018 GMC Terrain stopped in the southbound inner lane.
Due to the force, the GMC crashed into a 2001 Toyota Avalon, driven by 35-year-old Louie Bellen of Camarillo, whose car struck a 2016 Chevrolet, driven by 69-year-old Ralph Buckner of Fountain Valley.
Following the accident, authorities learned that the GMC driver died. His or her identity has yet to be released.
Meanwhile, Martin sustained minor injuries and the other drivers evaded harm in the crash.
According to reports, distracted driving and DUI do not appear to be contributing factors in the accident. However, if anyone has further insight to share with authorities, please contact the department.
