One Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Sahara Avenue [Las Vegas, NV]
Jailwalking Pedestrian Involved in Fatal Crash on Sahara Avenue near Decatur Boulevard in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 26, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Sahara Avenue on Monday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision happened near Decatur Boulevard at about 8:56 AM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian crossed against a “Don’t Walk” traffic signal at the time of the crash. Subsequently, a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling south on Sahara struck the victim. Consequently, the impact threw the pedestrian in a western direction, landing in the roadway. Finally, the victim slid and tumbled to a final rest in the left of three westbound travel lanes.
Soon after, emergency crews transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center Trauma. Unfortunately, the victim died due to severe injuries. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
The assessment showed the vehicle had a green light at that time. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and attempted to help the victim.
AT this time, no other information is available. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the victim.
