One Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Market Street [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Vehicle in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 19, 2020) – One person suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Market Street on Monday night.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened near 805 Freeway at approximately 7:40 PM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian was wearing all-black clothing and crossing the roadway in the middle of the street at the time of the crash. At the same time, a 58-year-old man driving a 2001 Ford F-150 was headed west when he struck the victim and stopped immediately.
As a result, the 43-year-old pedestrian suffered internal bleeding and a fractured left femur and ankle.
The driver said he did not see the victim crossing the street. The pedestrian was also not in a crosswalk. This time, the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the collision. Officials do not suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Give way to people who are crossing the street to avoid a pedestrian accident. In addition, always follow traffic regulations and always slow down in crowded areas. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
