Police SUV Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 4th Avenue near G Street in Chula Vista
CHULA VISTA, CA (October 21, 2020) – A police officer who was responding to a call suffered injuries in a crash on 4th Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened in front of Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, between G Street and H Street just after 2:20 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was responding to a call of a high-risk vehicle stop involving a wanted man with a felony warrant at the time of the crash. While driving, his SUV collided with a vehicle pulling onto the street from a parking lot driveway. Subsequently, it struck a third vehicle that was waiting in a center turn lane.
Medics transported the officer to a hospital for further evaluation. In addition, they treated the two other drivers for minor injuries and released them at the scene.
The Chula Vista Police Department is investigating the case. At this time, they do not have additional details related to the case.
