Angel Molina Dead, Arturo Swadener Detained Following Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Grand Avenue Near Garner Road
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (October 22, 2020) — A 65-year-old pedestrian died Tuesday morning following a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Grand Avenue near Garner Road.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau, Angel Molina of Lake Elsinore died around 12:10 a.m. in the 18200 block of Grand Avenue.
By using information from the investigation, California Highway Patrol officers tracked down the alleged suspect to a nearby address.
On Adelfa Street, they questioned 66-year-old Arturo Swadener, who subsequently confessed to striking Molina with is 2004 Nissan Titan. Soon after, police arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
Currently, the circumstances of the crash require more investigation by detectives. Although, if any witnesses would like to help them with the case, please contact the authorities.
