Suzuki Vitara Involved in Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Highway 41 [Fresno, CA]
Suzuki Vitara Hit, Kills Pedestrian on Highway 41 at Highway 180 Connector
FRESNO, CA (October 19, 2020) — A man, believed to be a transient, died following Sunday morning’s pedestrian accident on Highway 41 at the Highway 180 connector.
According to reports, officers learned about the accident around 1:30 a.m. Arriving at the scene, they found a 40-year-old man with grave injuries.
Paramedics were called to the area, but the victim died not too long after.
Meanwhile, the driver, identified as Suzuki Vitara, suffered an unknown injury and sought hospital care at Community Regional Medical Center following the crash.
According to the investigation, officers determined that Vitara struck the man while driving about 65 mph along the connector ramp. Additionally, police determined that Vitara was unable to avoid the imminent accident by stopping in time.
As of now, alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as possible factors in the accident, but if witnesses have additional information, please contact investigators.
